Back from the bush

Well i was away from thursday last week, so wasnt able to update.
Would you believe that, i couldn't even update in the bush!
they actually had NO signal there, except for on this one hill about 2k's from camp! and thats where the cheetah was, so i wasnt going to walk there and hang about!
So hardspear got back to me wioth some great advice on my blog and getting feedback etc.
he said to comment on other peoples.
NOTED, and thanks. from today i will be commenting on other peoples blogs. i will start with his, seems fair!
anywho...
what about a gripe then...

GRIPE:

Well to be honest, i dont really have a small medium or large gripe. if anything, i do feel that someone needs to create a safari experience aimed at the SA market in price range and to still get that special experience.
Kruger is not an option before anyone says that!
i mean the actual luxury safari experience. they are all SO expensive here and its just seems unfair because its where we all live and its our heritage!
i mean its taking private reserves to sort out and save all the issues the empires caused here with hunting!
does that not seem strange to you, that we, as south africans, are trying to fix the wild life system, but then we aim it at the foreigners again???
i'm sur ethere are a million and one south africans that would love to show their kids and even themselves see an elephant up close, or lion etc...
yet, at the CHEAPESTof R4000 a night, it is out of most south africans grasp. so they stuck with the kruger, which dont get me wrong, is AWESOME, but also pot luck and the wildlife has been know to be rather dreary looking at the best of times!
so how can we have a more affordable way for the natives south africans that would like to show their kids a not TB filled dreary looking buffalo??

GRIPE WATER:

Well i think that this is where the government should be getting involved in nature conservation and not just at kruger! actually working with the WWF's of the world and getting the eco system running nicely. erradicating TB in the animals up north, by using land inthe eastern cape to start reserves and diversify the gene pool.
while doing thios also have camps that are well priced and let people see animals in better shape and thriving. they can even be moved to the kruger once they are in top form and the kruger will start looking amazing!
I know its not as simple as that, but they can try, surely?
they the government! they can re-zone land if they need to, and if its for a good cause, who is going to complain?

Well i hope that you all get to experience a safari. it really is the most awesome thing and no matter how many time you see the same type of animal, its always facinating!

PS. i won our trip in a golf day.... I'm a student, i dont have R8000 for 2 nights! you mad! and this is what i mean of seeing awesome things up close! you just dont get this at kruger and the animals are in no where as good a shape unfortunately!
